Miss.Siri

Siri Vangala

Afterschool Coordinator, Assistant Instructor

Taekwondo Pre-Black Belt (Kukkiwon – World Taekwondo Headquarters)

Why I train: I joined Taekwondo to learn self-defense, but it gave me so many other things I never knew it could such as confidence in myself and my abilities, dedication, mental strength, and determination. As I trained harder, Taekwondo grew to be one of my most favorite things in the world. Now I train not only to increase my physical ability and mental power, but simply because I purely love the sport.

Why I teach: I am a naturally reserved and lone person and not much of either a leader or follower. I started teaching in order to change that, to be a leader who can lead a group of people to bring out more of their potential. I am also normally very impatient and short tempered, so I believed that working with young students and small children helps me to control my emotions and mind when things might not go the way I want them to.

Why I train-

I train to be stronger, both physically and mentally. I train to build physical endurance but I also train in order to install motivation, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment within myself. Training as a team has also allowed me to build connections with my peers.

Why I teach-
I teach in order to make connections with students. My goal is to teach them what I have learned over the years while also installing trust, curiosity, and confidence. Being an assistant instructor has also allowed me to gain leadership skills and has taught me the importance of being a good role model.
